5.10.14: 27

I went to a workshop on the new textbooks my school will be using next year.  During my lunch break I sat outside at a bright blue picnic table and made a few cranes. The weather was perfect, just enough of a breeze to cool me off, but not too much to blow the cranes away. Afterwards I made a few more in the bowl below. Today brings me to a new record for one day. I may have to go for 30 this weekend...

I picked the papers above thinking of the flowers I sent my mom for Mother's Day. Her favorite are yellow roses. The bouquet also had purple accents, complimentary colors baby! I miss being young and getting up to help my dad make breakfast for my mom.  Then my brothers and I would bring her breakfast in bed with cards and likely gifts made at school. And now in my first year of teaching, I have a new appreciation for everything my mom did and still does for me. If I am half the mother she is, my kids would be very lucky.

Two little birdies decided to join me for breakfast...

...and then I made twenty after work. Not quite sure how that happened. I had planned to work on my presentation for the ESOL class I am taking, but I guess instead some part of me knew I needed to make something a bit more tangible. And get sucked into Labor Day with Kate Winslet. (SO GOOD!)

Not feeling well these last few days.  Losing my voice from stress.  Yep, I'm that person.  I was suppose to go to my stained- glass class but I was so exhausted from being sick I went home and took a nap after work.  Nothing like some post-nap birdies...loving the surprise gold and silver papers in my new pack of papers!

Still sound like a man. The weirdest feeling was feeling the skin on the back of my head crawling...ewwww! I think the lighting is fitting for how I'm feeling.  Let's hope tomorrow is better!

New Paper!

The baby cranes spilling out of my purse were folded this morning waiting at the social security office. I used the hour I had to wait wisely (Though if I had brought more paper I could have used it more wisely). I was very happy once I was finally out of there, however I was actually happier once the grumpy and rude man sitting next to me got his number called. Any "man" that cannot look beyond his own impatience to refrain from choosing to use vulgar language and throw around passive aggressive insults about things you are ignorant to is not a man. Gross. Rant over.

I got some new paper today at Michael's. I only have 15 or so of the papers my mom sent me. One pack of 200, 20, and 100? I couldn't tell from the package with the last one. Below are what some of the prints look like. I should be busy for a little while...

...and of course I couldn't wait to use some of my new paper!

These are all of the birds I've made since my last post and the one that did not fit with the first 200 above my bed. I didn't keep track of how many I made each day, but in total there are 35. Soon the question will be where am I going to put all of these...hmmmm...
